| Picking Your Puppy, Deposits, and Pricing |
Picking Your PuppyWe believe in treating others the way we ourselves would like to be treated. God has blessed us, and we are happy to share these dogs with others. We do place our puppies in loving homes only. However, you will not be subjected to extensive questioning and you will not be asked to fill out a questionnaire. Puppies/dogs need your time, care, and love. Owning an animal is a responsibility. Cavaliers can live into their teens, and will need you during all of these years. Unless you are prepared to take your Cavalier out on a leash every time it needs to go out, a fenced in yard is also important. Cavaliers are playful little dogs, and find great fun in chasing a rabbit or perhaps another animal across your yard. This can be dangerous if your Cavalier is not in a safe and secure area. DepositsThe decision to place a deposit either before or after the litter is born, is entirely up to you. Deposits are $250. The deposit is non- refundable. If you do not find a puppy that suits you may always choose to carry your deposit over to our next litter. Our deposit fee is considerably less than most other breeders’ deposit fee. We do not refund deposits, because we feel that a deposit is your commitment to us to purchase a puppy from us, in exchange for a place on the selection list. In fairness to others on the list and to us the breeder, we like to keep our list accurate. This is difficult to do if people feel that they can hold a spot, and then always ask for their money back if they change their mind. A deposit guarantees you a certain spot in the selection process. At the end of 5 weeks of age we begin our temperament testing. At this time, we will share our findings with everyone and you are welcome to come and visit the puppies at this time. If you are not within a reasonable driving distance and would like to choose based on photos and our findings that is completely acceptable. Once you have selected a puppy, the puppy is considered spoken for. We ask that at the time of placing your deposit you specify what you are placing a deposit on (i.e. Blenheim male). You are welcome to change your preference at anytime, but would be placed after people who have also placed a deposit and specified the choice you are changing to. For example, at the time of your initial deposit you were first in line for a Blenheim male. Since then you have decided you’d like a Tri female instead, but there is a deposit already made by someone else for a Tri female. You would then be second on the list for a Tri female. This does not mean you won’t get the one you really want. There is always a good chance that the other party will not pick the puppy that is your first choice. The reason we ask you to specify, is that most people know what color and gender they most want, and want to know where they stand on the list for choice. We reserve the right to keep any puppy as a show prospect, before the selection process begins. If you want to place a deposit, we ask that you fill out a deposit form to send to us. Please see our deposit form for more information. PricingPuppies going to pet homes are $1500. If you are buying a show or breeding prospect the price will be more. We occasionally and selectively sell puppies to breeding homes. We will not sell to brokers or puppy mills. |
